Army Arrests Murder Suspect in Abi Samra – Tripoli

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 18 August 2026, a clash involving an exchange of gunfire took place between citizens (M.K.) and (Aa.Sh.) in Abi Samra - Tripoli, resulting in the death of the latter. The incident stemmed from previous disputes.

Immediately, Army units carried out a series of raids in the Dam wal Farz area to arrest the shooter, (M.K.), and seized weapons and military ammunition.

In parallel, as a result of security follow-up and pursuit operations, the shooter’s location was identified near the Lebanese-Syrian border in the Abboudiyeh - Akkar. An Army unit cordoned off the area and arrested him.

The Army also arrested two Syrians, (M.A.) and (F.A.), for attempting to assist him in fleeing into Syrian territory.

The seized items were handed over to the competent authorities, and an investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
